Our Story
How a private Lutyens-era home became one of Delhi's most quietly distinguished addresses.
Home/About
The Beginning
The residence was raised in the early decades of New Delhi's construction — a private home built around a courtyard, in the manner of the city's finest addresses. For eighty years it passed through a single family, gathering its arches, jaali screens and neem trees into something that could not be reproduced today.
When restoration began in 2017, the brief was simple: change nothing that could be repaired, and add nothing that would announce itself. Two years later, The Aurum opened its doors with thirty-two rooms and the original courtyard intact.
Our Philosophy
We believe the finest service is the kind you barely notice — the tea that arrives before you ask, the room remembered from your last visit, the silence of a courtyard in a city of eleven million.
The Setting
Our lane sits between the ceremonial avenues of Lutyens' Delhi and the Georgian colonnades of Connaught Place. India Gate is a fifteen-minute stroll; Humayun's Tomb a short drive; the airport under half an hour. Few addresses put this much of the capital within reach while holding this much quiet.
